METHODS OF STARTING AND STOPPING THE ENGINE

Please read carefully and understand the section of "For safe use" in this
manual before use.
1. Turn on the engine switch to "ON".
(The engine switch may be provided on the working
machine depending on the specifications.)
2. Repeat pressing the priming button with finger till it
hits the top.
Repeat this until the fuel starts to return to the tank
through the transparent pipe.
3. (A: In case of the choke lever type)
Fully close the choke lever. If the fuel is
reserved and the engine is warm, put the
choke lever at the fully opened position.
* Position of the choke lever may differ
depending on the specifications.
(B: In case of the starter lever type)
Turn down the starter lever of carburetor to
bring it to the start position.
It is not to operate the starter lever if the engine is
warm (for up to approximately 15 minutes after
stopping engine).
4. Turn the throttle lever to the "low speed" position.
5. Holding down on the engine, grasp the recoil starter
grip and strongly pull it.
(B: In case of the starter lever type)
When the engine has stopped after starting or it fails
to start even if the recoil is operated several times,
return the starter lever to the operating position and
then pull the recoil starter grip strongly.
6. (A: In case of the choke lever type)
After the start, move the choke lever gradually to
the fully opened position observing the condition of
engine.
When engine produces explosion sounds but fails
to start, move the choke lever to the fully opened
position and then pull the starter grip strongly again.
