3. Place the base station on a dry, even, fi rm, water and heat-resistant surface. Do not
place the device below kitchen wall units or similar cupboards. The rising steam could
cause damage to them!
4. Push the button for opening the lid (9) on the side marked PUSH with your thumb to
unlock the lid (8) and open it by pulling the lid with your index fi nger.
5. Fill the kettle (6) with at least 0.5 litres and max. 1.7 litres of water. Insuffi cient water
will cause the device to switch off prematurely. If the top marking is exceeded, water
could splash out during the boiling process.
6. Close the lid. It must engage.
7. Place the kettle on the base station.
8. Push down the On / Off switch (1) on the side marked I. The device will turn on and
the LED lighting (5) will illuminate. You can interrupt the boiling process at any time
by pushing down the On / Off switch on the side marked O.
9. The device automatically deactivates once the water has boiled. The On / Off switch
sets automatically to Off position and the LED lighting switches off.
10. Take the kettle off the base station and carefully pour the water into a vessel. Keep
the lid closed when pouring out the water.
Cleaning and Care

Regularly descale the device.

The device is not dishwasher-safe.
■
Do not use any toxic, corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents or scouring sponges to
clean the device. These can damage the surface.

If necessary, wipe down the kettle (6) and the base station (5) with a clean, damp
cloth.
•
Keep the device ready to operate. Remove limescale deposits with a descaling agent.
Follow the instructions on how to use the descaling agent.
•
If the interior of the kettle is dirty, it can be rinsed carefully with detergent and clear
water. Make sure that no water gets into the contacts on the bottom of the ket-
tle! Do not immerse the kettle in water! This could cause a short circuit.

If not in use, the kettle may be stored on the base station. However, be sure to pull
the mains plug out of the socket.
