FUNCTION
Manual recording mode enables you to set
the focus and screen brightness etc. manually.
Preparation:
•
Slide the power/mode switch to MODE to

Press the PLAY/REC button to select
recording mode.

Program AE

You can record videos or still images with
optimum brightness by adjusting the exposure
and shutter speed to suit your surroundings or
the subject.
Set the program AE dial to the desired
setting (I to /).
For details on each setting, see right column.

Changing the Shutter Speed

A fast shutter speed can freeze the motion
of a fast-moving subject, and a slow shutter
speed can blur the subject to give the
impression of motion.

Set the program AE dial to "S".

Select the desired setting (1/2 to
1/4000 in ! mode, 1/2 to 1/500* in #
mode).
The smaller the value, the faster the
shutter speed.
* 1/2 to 1/250 when using the fl ash.
8 To cancel the shutter speed setting
Set the program AE dial to 4 (auto
recording mode).
NOTE
It is recommended to use the tripod (
when recording with a slow shutter speed.
