operAtion - Grilling on both sides
1. Allow the appliance to preheat (see Preheating).
2. Place a cup under the fat drain to collect excess fat.
3. Raise the top plate to the vertical position.
4. Place the food on the grill plate.
5. Lower the top plate until it rests on the food.
6. Grill the food until it is done. You do not need to turn the food over while it is being grilled.
7. Lift the top plate.
8. Remove the food from the grill plate and place on a plate. Take care! The food is hot.
note T he height of the top plate is adjustable. The top plate can be locked when in the top position.

cleAninG And MAintenAnce

1. R emove the plug from the wall socket, and
allow the appliance to cool down completely.
2. C lean the grill plates after each use. Release
the grill plates by pressing on the clamps (see
Figure 2). The grill plates can be cleaned in hot
water with washing-up liquid; use a soft cloth or
a plastic washing-up brush. Dry the grill plates
thoroughly, and replace them in the appliance.
3. C lean the appliance with a damp cloth, and
then dry thoroughly.
4. W ind the power cord around the cord reel on
the rear of the appliance.
5. S tore the appliance. The appliance can be
stored either horizontally or vertically; for
vertical storage, stand the appliance on its
back.
• N ever use metal implements or scourers to
clean the grill plates; these could damage the non-stick coating on the grill plates.
• N ever immerse the appliance, plug or power cord in water. Never put the appliance in a dishwasher.
• N ever use corrosive or scouring cleaning agents or sharp objects (such as knives or hard brushes)
to clean the appliance.
