4.2 Auxiliary contacts
In the sockets ADVANCE-GRP[GD] type 16A, 32A, and 63A can be install as optional 2 auxiliary
contacts maximum, on model type 125A is not possible to install auxiliary contacts.
They are optional accessories with ATEX/IECEx separate certificates. Installation and maintenance shall
be done as prescribed by manufacturer documents. Creepage and clearance distances shall comply
with IEC/EN 60079-7 at Table 1, current and maximum dissipated power shall not exceed the maximum
value allowed.

5. Installation

Installation shall be carried out by suitably-trained personnel in accordance with
the applicable code of practice (e.g. IEC EN 60079-14) and the provisions of the
national safety and accident prevention regulations and this instruction manual.
5.1 Safety Instructions
Use the switch only for its intended purpose. Incorrect or impermissible use or noncompliance with
these instructions invalidates our warranty provision. No changes to the switch impairing its explosion
protection are permitted. Fit and operate the switch only if it is clean and undamaged.
The contact element must be replaced after each short-circuit in the switch main
circuit. This is because the device is hermetically sealed and the state of the
switching contacts cannot be checked. Any damage can invalidate the Ex
protection.
5.2 Accessories
• Auxiliary Contacts type see topic 3.1.
• Earth-stud (stud, nuts and plain washer) made in brass or in stainless steel AISI 316
• Cable-glands and blanking-plugs with separate certificates.
Detail of optional earth-stud: Figure 4 - page 3
Only approved and genuine SCAME accessories must be used.

5.3 Terminal Fitting
All wiring must be carried out in accordance with the code of practice and installation standards in
hazardous areas like IEC EN 60079-14. Use the correct size of tool and torque (see manufacturer
documents) for tightening the terminal clamps (screwdriver or spanner).
Creepage and clearance distances shall comply with IEC/EN 60079-7 (table 1), electrical parameters
shall not exceed the maximum allowed.
Note: Minimum creepage and clearance distances that shall be maintained to conductive parts or other live
parts are:
250 V
400 V
500 V
630 V

ADVANCE-GRP[GD]shall be subject to a routine dielectric streght test of 1000 V +
2U rms or 1500 V rms, whichever is the greater applied for a period of 60 s as
required by clause 6.1 of IEC EN 60079-7. Alternatively, a test shall be carried out
at 1.2 times the test voltage, but maintained for at least 100 ms.

6. Cable Glands

Use only Ex e and/or Ex tb IIIC approved glands (as relevant). Certified cable glands can only be fitted
with a suitable IP rating commensurate with IP rating of the enclosure.
Ensure that all the cable-glands used, shall be suitable for the cable in order to prevent self-loosening
and ensure permanent sealing to avoid moisture ingress.
Refer to the instructions of cable glands manufacturer.
6.1 Blanking Plugs
Any unused entries must be blanked using a suitably approved blanking plugs with separate certificate.
6.2 Drilling Area
The drilling area have to drilled respecting the minimum distance, and diameters e number of maximum
hole indicated in table 2 (Clearance).
Drilling Area Dimension: Table 9 – page 3.

7. Servicing and maintenance and repairing

Installation, inspection and maintenance of this equipment shall be carried out by
-50°C / +75°C
suitably trained personnel in accordance with the applicable code of practice (e.g.
-50°C / +75°C
IEC/EN 60079-14, IEC/EN 60079-17). Repair of this equipment shall be carried out by
suitably trained personnel in accordance with the applicable code of practice. During
servicing, it is particularly important to check those components upon which the type
- 40°C / +80°C
of protection depends.
7.1 Routine Maintenance
Routine maintenance is required in order to guarantee the efficiency of the enclosure and to maintain
the required level of protection.
Ambient
1) Check that the lid seal is in place and not damaged...each time the enclosure is opened
Temperature
2) Check that all the lid fixing screws are in place and secured...each time the enclosure is closed
3) Check that the mounting screws/bolts are tight and free of corrosion...annually
-50°C / +75°C
4) Check the security of all cable glands...annually
-50°C / +75°C
5) Check the enclosure for damage...annually
6) In zones with presence of combustible dusts it is necessary to periodically clean the upper surface
of the box, limiting the depth of the layer to less than 5 mm.
7.2 Resistance to chemical Agent
Consideration should be given to the environment in which these enclosures are to be used to determine
the suitability of these materials to withstand any corrosive agents that may be present.
7.3 Disposal
Disposal and recycling of the product shall be done according to national regulations for waste disposal
and recycling.
