In some cases, contact between the tip of the chain bar and a solid object
can cause the chain bar to strike back at lightning speed, throwing it
backwards and upwards towards the operator. Pinching the saw-chain at the
upper part of the chain bar can cause the chain bar to bounce back and
towards the operator with a quick movement. If either of these events occurs,
you could lose control of the chainsaw, which could result in serious injury.
Do not rely solely on the chainsaw's built-in safety features. As a user of this
device, you must take some precautions to ensure that all work with the saw
can be performed without accident or injury
If you become reasonably familiar with the causes and characteristics of
kickback, you will reduce or eliminate the element of surprise, which
eliminates a common cause of accidents.
