FILLING INSTRUCTIONS
CAUTION– Use only fresh distilled or sterilized water that is at room temperature. Do not
add any medication or other additives to the water.
Ensure that all six slide latches are positioned in the locked (
ring seal is properly positioned. Hold the humidifier vertical with the inlet and discharge
ports facing upward. Pour enough water in both ports (Figure 2) until the water level in
both halves of the chamber is between the minimum and maximum fill lines on the top sur-
face of the humidifier lid. The water level must be between the fill lines across the entire
length of the lines (Figure 3). The humidifier can also be filled by adding a pre-measured
amount of water, between 425ml and 525ml, into both ports.
Before each use, ensure that the humidifier is clean (reference Care and Cleaning
Instructions) and filled to the appropriate level with fresh distilled or sterilized water that
is at room temperature.
Do not fill the humidifier while it is attached to the CPAP or ventilator. To pre-
vent electrical hazards, do not allow water to contact the CPAP or ventilator.
CAUTION– Inspect the o-ring before each use for damage or deterioration. Replace the o-
ring if it is damaged or if the o-ring will not provide a proper seal. Use replace-
ment o-ring part number 9100D-600.
CONNECTION AND SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS
For safe operation, do not place the humidifier on top of the CPAP or ventilator.
The humidifier must always be at a lower level than the mask and the CPAP or
ventilator.
The humidifier must be level for proper operation.
If the CPAP or ventilator is small enough to securely fit on the top surface of the humidifi-
er, it can be placed on top of the humidifier (Figure 4). Otherwise, the CPAP or ventilator
must be placed beside the humidifier (Figure 5).
1. Connect one end of the 15"(38 cm) connector tubing to either humidifier port.
Connect the free end of the patient circuitry (patient tubing and mask system assem-
bly) to the remaining humidifier port.
2. With the CPAP or ventilator turned off, connect the free end of the 15"(38 cm) con-
nector tubing to the outlet of the CPAP or ventilator.
