Making Measurements
• Remove the protective cap from the tip of the sensor (7).
• Switch the soil meter on.
• Insert the probe tip into the soil in the position, where you want to make your measurements
(e.g. a flower pot or next to a plant in the garden).
In a flower pot, you should insert the probe tip roughly between the plant and the
edge of the pot.
Insert the probe tip deep enough so it is approximately as deep as the root ball.
However, do not use force. Otherwise, the sensor or the plant may be damaged.
If the soil is too dry, the pH value cannot be measured. In this case, water the plant
and wait for half an hour before measuring the pH value again.
• Select temperature/moisture or pH value with the sliding switch (4) on the rear.
• The sunlight intensity is shown at the top of the display.
In the operating mode „TEMP" (move the sliding switch (4) on the rear in the appropriate
position), the moisture is also shown at the bottom of the display.
Read the next sections, for instructions on how to display of sunlight intensity, pH
value and moisture.
• Pull the probe tip carefully out of the soil, when the measurements are completed. Switch the
soil meter off and clean probe tip and metal rod with a dry, clean, soft cloth (use a damp cloth
for heavy soiling, if necessary). Leave the probe tip to dry and then replace the protective
cap.
Display of sunlight intensity
The sunlight intensity is shown at the top of the display. Therefore, it is important that the sen-
sor (4) is roughly aligned in direction of the sun.
The values are displayed in 9 steps:
Very weak sunlight

Display of the pH
Depending on the plant, a certain pH value is required. Some plants grow better in a slightly
acidic soil, some in a more alkaline soil.
With the soil meter, you can check in your garden, for example, whether the existing soil is suit-
able for a certain plant.

Soil moisture display
The soil moisture can only be displayed, when the appropriate operating mode is selected with
the sliding switch (4) on the rear.
The values are displayed in 5 steps:

Maintenance and Cleaning
Apart from replacement of the battery, the soil meter requires is maintenance-free. Never dis-
mantle the product.
Clean the probe tip and the metal rod before and after each measurement. Turn the soil meter
off before cleaning.
Clean probe tip and metal rod with a dry, clean, soft cloth (use a damp cloth for heavy soiling,
if necessary).
Never use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents as these will damage the probe tip; the war-
ranty will be void.
Leave the probe tip and the metal rod to dry. Then attach the protective cap to the probe tip
before storing the device.

Disposal
a) In general
Please dispose of the device when it is no longer of use, according to the current
statutory requirements.
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batte-
ries/rechargeable batteries; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The symbols for the rele-
vant heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can return used (rechargeable) batteries free of charge at the official collection
points in your municipality, our stores, or where ever (rechargeable) batteries are
sold!
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
