QUICK CONFIGURATION GUIDE
1 DT-232 FUNCTIONS
The DT-232 is a transmodulator with two inputs for DVB-S/S2
satellite signals and two DVB-T (COFDM) outputs. It extracts the sequence
of digital data (Transport Stream) and then modulates them again,
combining them in a single DVB-T signal, in order to distribute it in UHF
band (for the "V" option it is distributed in the band from 170 MHz to
650 MHz).
The output signal has better quality, allowing its way through multiple
amplifier stages, drifters, long cables, etc.
Each receiver has also a slot to insert a Card Acces Module (CAM) in
order to de-encrypt programmes.
Among the practical applications of this module are the possibility to
choose what DVB-S/S2 channels will become DVB-T, the restoration of the
quality of a weak signal or the possibility to move DVB-T channels from one
frequency to other, to avoid degradation of the signal or overlapping on
other channels.
After going through this process, the signal of the DVB-T module can
be inserted into a television distribution network, with the advantages of
robustness and high quality offered by the digital technology.
