7.6 REPLACING KNIFE, DIE AND DIE PLATE

Remove
– Disconnect tool from air supply.
– Remove lock washer (15/9) and washer (15/10) and
push out shaft (15/11).
– Remove three cylinder screws (15/5).
– Withdraw base plate (15/4) together with sealing
mechanism from housing as far as possible.
– Remove set screw (15/8) and push out shaft (15/7).
– Remove base plate (15/4) from sealing mechanism.
– Loosen four cylinder screws (15/3) and remove and
replace left and right dies (15/2) as well as knife
(15/1).
– Loosen two cylinder screws (15/6) and remove and
replace die (15/12).
Install
– Install the parts in reverse order.
Secure new cylinder screws (15/6), (15/3)
and set screw (15/8) with Loctite 243.
– Set cut-off depth after assembly (see chapter 7.3).

7.7 CLEANING THE TOOL

– The tool should be regulary cleaned. Especially the
tension wheel the sealer dies and the tensioning
plate should be kept clean. The easiest way to do
this, is to use compressed air and to blow out the
dust (wear eye protection).
