Charging
The IBC2500 charger can easily be configured to charge many different types of 12V/24V
lead-acid batteries like wet batteries, MF, AGM, Deep Cycle and most GEL-batteries.
The
following recommendations should, however, only be seen as guidelines. When in doubt,
always consult the battery manufacturer for further instructions.
Item
Description
MODE-Button: Press to select the operation mode or to reset during charging.
12V/24V-Button: Press to choose the charging voltage.
"display"-Button: Press to select the displayed unit.
Fault-LED: This LED lights up, if a short-circuit, reversed polarity or a faulty battery is
detected or if the connection to the battery was interrupted.
Digital Display: shows voltage, current, charging percentage
Normal-Charging-Mode for all supported types of batteries: charging rates are 14.4V
with up to 25.0A or 28.8V with up to 12.5A
Frost-Mode: A higher charging voltage is used at temperatures below 5°C and for many
AGM-batteries: 14.7V with up to 25A or 29.4V with up to 12.5A.
Do not use this setting for maintenance charging when temperatures are above 5°C.
Repair-Mode: If the battery voltage is below 10.5V and the battery cannot absorb the
charging current, the charger will automatically pulse-charge (up to 16V) the battery
to reactivate it. If the battery could be repaired successfully, the charger will turn back
to the previous charge mode. If, after 2 hours, the battery cannot be recovered, the
battery is recognised as defect and the "Fault-LED" will light up.
DC-supply Mode:
This charger can also be used as a power supply (without a connected battery). When
you exchange your car´s battery, you may use the charger as a power supply in order
to keep the car data. 13.5V and 25A can be delivered to a connected device.
Please select 12V or 24V by pressing the 12V/24V-Button first. Then press the MODE
button until the DC-supply-Mode LED will light up. Connect the output clamps of the
charger to the terminals of your car with the right polarity.
