5. Before starting the equipment

Before you connect the equipment to the mains
supply make sure that the data on the rating plate
are identical to the mains data.
Always pull the power plug before making
adjustments to the equipment.
The lawn mower is delivered unassembled. The
complete push bar and the grass basket must be
assembled before using the lawn mower. Follow
the operating instructions step-by-step and use
the pictures provided as a visual guide to easily
assemble the equipment.
Fitting the push bar (Fig. 3a to 3d)
Take a bottom push bar (Fig. 2 /Item 3) and fasten
it with the nut (Fig. 2/Item 20) as shown in Fig. 3a.
Proceed in the same way on the other side.
When you fi t the top push bar you can decide the
height of the push bar by selecting the appropri-
ate fastening hole (Fig. 3b). Fasten the top push
bar using either the holes L for a low position or H
for a high position. Screw the top push bar to the
bottom push bar as shown in Fig. 3c. Then attach
the power cable to the push bar (Fig. 3d/Item A)
using the cable clips (Fig. 2/Item 13).
Mounting the grass basket (Fig. 4a to 4d)
Plug the bottom and the top part of the grass box
together (Fig. 4a/Item 14, 15). Ensure that all the
plastic lugs engage correctly. Next push the grass
box handle (Fig. 4b/Item 16) into the openings on
the grass box. Check that the handle is secure
and correctly positioned.
Finally, press the insert (Fig. 2/Item 17) into the
grass basket as shown in Fig. 4c. Before you fi t
the grass basket you must ensure that the motor
is switched off and the blade is not rotating. The
grass box must be attached to the two hooks on
the mower (Fig. 4d). To do this, open the ejector
fl ap with one hand (Fig. 4d/Item 4) and attach the
grass box with the other hand. The ejector fl ap is

held against the grass box by a spring.
Filling level indicator of the grass collector
The grass collector is equipped with a fi lling level
indicator (Fig. 2/Item 18) which is opened by the
airfl ow that the lawn mower generates during ope-
ration. If the fl ap closes during mowing, the grass
collecting device is full and must be emptied. To
ensure the proper functioning of the fi lling level
indicator, the holes under the fl ap must always be
kept clean and passable.
Using the mulching adapter (Fig. 5, not inclu-
ded with 34.001.92):
In mulching mode the cuttings are shredded in
the enclosed mower housing and then spread
back onto the lawn. It is not necessary to gather
and dispose of the grass.
Important: Mulching is only possible if the lawn is
relatively short.
Important!
Insert the mulching blade only when the engine is
switched off and the power plug has been pulled
out.
To use the mulching function, disconnect the
grass box, slide the mulching adaptor (Fig. 5/Item
19) into the ejector opening and close the ejector
fl ap.
Adjusting the cutting height
Important!
Adjust the cutting height only when the motor is
switched off and the power cable has been dis-
connected.
Before you begin to mow, check to ensure that the
blade is not blunt and that none of the fasteners
are damaged. To prevent any imbalance, replace
blunt and/or damaged blades. To carry out this
check, fi rst switch off the motor and pull out the
power plug.
The cutting height is adjusted as follows
(see Fig. 6):
1. Pull out the lever (6).
2. Set the lever (6) to the desired cutting height.
3. Release the lever (6) and check that it is se-
curely seated in the lock.
