Adjustment of level-
ling bar.
The inclination and height of the
levelling bar are adjustable. If the
bar is placed as much at an angle
as possible, it improves the crush-
ing effect. If the bar is placed in a
more vertical position, it improves
the levelling effect.
The tractor will be greatly loaded if
levelling bar works too deeply. The
levelling bar is not supposed to
move soil but only to level and
crush clods.
Turning.
Never turn the cultivator so sharply
that tines are forced sideways and

far in excess of what the tines are

Backing
Never back with the tines in the
underground. The cultivator must
be raised to avoid the tines being
overloaded.
Maintenance.
Re-tightening.
On a new cultivator all bolts and
nuts are to be re-tightened after the
first working day. Apart from that
you should make sure that they are
tight at all time.

Greasing
Grease the packer/cage roller and
the drill linkage every working day.
Clean and lubricate the cultivator
after use. It prolongs its life.
Scrapers for packer
roller
Set the packer roller scrapers as
close to the roller as possible.
Rotate the roller and check that the
scrapers do not touch the roller at
any point.
