Safety
Never go under the machine when
raised in the tractor lift until the
machine is properly supported and
the tractor brake applied.
Follow the rules governing the
transportation of farm implements
and machinery on public roads.
Provide sufficient front-end weight
on the tractor to give the front
wheels a firm road grip when the
machine is lifted off the ground.
Max: total weight of connected
seed drill: 1500 kg.
Avoid long-distance transportation
with filled grain tanks as this may
cause excessive load on the ma-
chine.
Raising seed drill
Before the cultivator is to be used
the hydraulic system for raising the
seed drill is to be bled. Should
there be some air in the system the
seed drill may fall with a crash
when lowered. Dismantle the piston
rod and put pressure on the
cylinder so that the piston rod
moves to a from a couple of times.
Then remount the piston rod.
How to use quick
release coupling.
Mounting
Place the black drawbar of the
cultivator in the lower links of the
tractor. Place the bushes on the
draw pins. The bushes must be
placed on the
6
outside of the hitch points of the
lower links so that they support the
drawbar against the outer draw
hooks on the cultivator. Otherwise
the drawbar may easily become
overloaded and break.
The hair pin clips are fitted - hair
pin clips of a quality inferior to that
of the original hardened spring
steel must not be used
Back the tractor towards the culti-
vator till the hitch points of the low-
er links are below the gaps be-
tween the draw hooks. Raise the
drawbar with the tractor lift till it is
caught in the draw hooks. Mount
the top link.
Disengaging.
Lower the lift. Remove the top link
and release the quick coupling.
Take the drawbar from the tractor
and place it on the cultivator.
Adjustment of top
link.
The cultivator frame must stay
horizontal during work to make both
the front and the rear tines work at
the same depth. This is adjusted by
means of the tractor's top link.
A short top link raises the rear tines
whereas a lengthened top link low-
ers the rear tines.
When the cultivator works in the
field the top link must be lower at
the tractor end than at the head-
stock of the cultivator.
The top link must never be horizon-
tal as the cultivator will run un-
steadily and make the steering of
the tractor difficult.
Adjustment of
working depth
The working depth is adjusted by
means of the pins for the packer/
cage roller arm. The cultivator must
be raised in the tractor lift in order
to adjust the working depth.
Do not forget to adjust the top link
of the tractor after changing the
working depht.
Always adjust the packer/cage
roller to obtain the same working
depht on both sides.
Speed.
A speed between 8 and 10 km/h
will be suitable for most jobs.
However, always drive at a speed
where the drill coulters are working
steadily.
