BAIER high-speed mixers are suitable for stirring
paints, plasters, mortars, adhesives and similar
materials. They may not be used to stir food, highly
flammable or caustic substances.

Before Starting Work
To ensure safe working with the high-speed mixers,
the following points must be observed before each
use:
•
Read through all safety instructions and
warnings in this instruction manual.
•
Wear protective clothing such as hard hat, face
protection or safety goggles, safety gloves and if
necessary an apron.
•
The voltage on the rating plate must be identical
with the mains voltage.
•
Before using the machine, always check the
connection cable and plug.

(only BSM 2863 – 110 V)
DANGER
Risk of injury due to electric shock.
Î The PRCD personal protection switch must be
checked each time before the BSM 2863 – 110
V high-speed mixer is started up (see below).
If the PRCD does not trip during the test, or if
it switches off repeatedly when the BSM 2863
– 110 V high-speed mixer is switched on, the
BSM 2863 – 110 V high-speed mixer together
with the PRCD personal protection switch must
be examined by a qualified electrician.
•
13
If the mains plug is plugged in and the
BSM 2863 – 110 V high-speed mixer is switched
off, press the −ON− button (RESET) (2). The red
indicator light (1) must light up.
•
Press the −OFF− button (TEST) (3). The
13
PRCD must switch off, i.e. the red indicator light
(1) goes out.
•
Press the −ON− button again (RESET) (2).
13
It must now be possible to switch on the
BSM 2863 – 110 V high-speed mixer.
•
If the PRCD does not trip during the test, or if
it switches off repeatedly when the BSM 2863
– 110 V high-speed mixer is switched on, the
BSM 2863 – 110 V high-speed mixer together
with the PRCD personal protection switch must
be examined by a qualified electrician.
•
Operation of the BSM 2863 – 110 V high-
speed mixer with a defective PRCD personal
protection switch is not permitted – risk of
fatal injuries.

Mount the D-shaped handle.
DANGER
Risk of injury due to electric shock.
Î Disconnect the mains plug before carrying out
any work (e.g. changing the stirrer) on the high-
speed mixer.
DANGER
Risk of poisoning due to toxic gases.
Risk of burns and fire due to flammable gases.
Î Do not process liquids or materials with
unknown hazard potential.
Î Observe the instructions for use issued by the
manufacturer of the material to be stirred.
Î When processing plastics, paints, varnishes
and similar materials, do not work near
flammable gases or materials.
•
