Before taking into operation, please carefully read this
operating instruction! Observe the safety
instructions! File documentation!
Always work according the instruction handbook.
Destined use
The steel jack is a mobile, manual lifting device for partly
lifting and lowering of loads.
Power operation is not allowed.
The jack is not designed for continuous operation.
Not suitable in hazardous location.
Alterations to the steel jack or fitting of accessories are only
allowed with our written approval.
Pay attention to the technical data and functional description!
Regulations for the Prevention of Accidents
Observe any rules which are valid for the respective country.
Presently valid for lifting gears in Germany:
UVV BGV D 8 winches- lifting and pulling devices
EN 1494 Steel Jacks
EN 1494 movable lifting devices,
EC directive 2006/42/EC

Safety Instructions
Operation, installation and maintenance work
should only be executed by personnel who are:
-competent
-rained
-familiar with the relevant regulations
Do not grease or lubricate the brake mechanism!
Moving of people by the winch or of loads over people is
strictly forbidden. Stay under lifted loads is forbidden.
Never touch moving parts. The lifting of dangerous
loads (e.g. molten metals, acids, brittle loads) is
prohibited.

Defects must be repaired immediately by competent trained
personnel. The steel jack has to be positioned in such a way
that only vertical forces are effective on the jac
The load must never be left unattended in lifted
state without additional support. It is necessary that the lifting
device and the load during all movements. The operator shall
be provided with all necessary information about training and

about pumping and translating forces.
No lateral forces must be effective on the steel jack.
Take care of stability and safe location.
Only lift the parts on one side.
Never lift with an additional Steel jack on lifted load.
Secure vehicles or loads against rolling-off, sliding-
off etc. The steel jack may only be charged for pressure.
Do not exceed crank force. Do not exceed the capacity stated
in the technical data (name plate). Before taking into
operation, a competent person must check the steel jack.
Daily examinations
=> brake functions (self locking) =>sight test of safety parts: crank,
pawl, claw, head
Examination by a competent person at least
once a year.
Always ensure the maintenance intervals are
adhered to.
Only use original accessories and spare parts;
otherwise safe function is not guaranteed.
