How to use your Longines chronograph
Your chronograph is a precise and reliable timepiece for everyday use.
It is driven by a Longines L674 automatic movement. The case is water-
resistant and fitted with a sapphire-crystal glass.
As a watch, the chronograph shows the hours, minutes, seconds, date
and day.
Using the chronograph, you can time events lasting up to 12 hours to
the nearest fifth of a second.
The three-position crown
1. Pushed in against the case
Winding: The natural movements of your wrist wind your Longines
chronograph while you wear it. Fully wound, it has a power reserve of
about 44 hours. Rewind the watch manually if it has stopped through
not being worn.
2. Pulled half-way out
Setting the date and the day: Turn the crown forwards to change the
date and backwards to adjust the day, then push the crown against the
case. You need to correct the date at the end of months with fewer than
31 days.
12
Important: Never change the date when the time shows between 8.00
pm and 3.00 am, to avoid damaging the movement.
3. Pulled right out
Setting the time to the second: The small seconds-hand stops when
you pull the crown out as far as it will go.
Set the hours and minutes by turning the crown any direction.
To restart the seconds at a broadcast or telephone time signal, push the
crown back in against the case.
Important: Should your chronograph need repair, it should be sent to
a Longines agent only.
Making sure your watch is water-resistant
Your chronograph is water-resistant. But if it receives a blow, it may lose
its water-resistance without you realizing it. Ask for its water-resistance
to be checked when you have your watch serviced.
