When figure M appears, leave the device stationary for 1 to 3 seconds until calibration is
completed. Then move the device carefully and gently in the same direction (from top
to bottom, left or right) without lifting or applying additional pressure to the device.
When the instrument is in the centre of a wooden slat, icons 1 and 3 in figure F are
displayed. Continue to move the device in the same direction. When the instrument
leaves the centre of the slat, the screen displays figure N. The further you move away,
the more the signal reduces until no signal appears on the screen (Fig. G).
Note: Repeat the operation in the same place for greater accuracy.
Warnings
The instrument may not automatically perform calibration due to various
environmental factors. Manual calibration is required. To do this, briefly press the
foreign object detection button (A-Fig.A).
If you get unstable results, this may be due to damp in the wall or partition or to
wallpaper or paint that is not dry. Since damp may not be visible, allow the wall or
partition to dry for several days.
It may be that due to an uneven or faulty wooden surface, foreign metal objects are
difficult to detect. Switching to metal detection mode can help locate nails, screws and
staples.
Before drilling or breaking walls or ceilings, always pay attention to the pipes and
cables.
Do not point the laser beam at people or animals and never look into the laser beam,
even if you are far away from it.
