Switching off: Press the trigger switch (11) and
release.
Check the cup wheel before use. The cup wheel must
be mounted perfectly and run smoothly. Allow the
machine to run at idling speed for at least 1 minute
before commencing work. Do not use any damaged,
non-round or vibrating grinding cups. Check for cor-
rect mounting of the grinding disk or replace it if you
detect strong vibrations. Please contact a service rep-
resentative immediately if your adjustments do not
result in an improvement.
Operating instructions
First switch on the device, then place the cup wheel
fully and evenly on the surface to be treated. Be care-
ful not to tilt the tool.
Always hold the device with both hands. In continu-
ous operation the device will continue to run when it
is torn from your hands.
Work in straight lines or with a circular motion. The
best results are achieved without excessive down-
pressure onto the area to be processed.
Do not push down on the grinder, as this might cause
the machine to stop.
Do not touch the grinding cup until it has cooled
down. The grinding cup on a concrete grinder can be-
come very hot during operation.
Fault tracing
Overload protection: The electronic signal display
(15) lights up and the load speed decreases dramati-
cally. The motor temperature is too high! Run the ma-
chine in idling until it coolsdown and the electronic
signal display switches off.
Overload protection: The electronic signal display
(15) lights up and the load speed decreases slightly.
The machine is overloaded. Work with a reduced load
until the electronic signal display goes out.
Electronic safety stop: The electronic signal display
(15) lights up and the machine was SWITCHED OFF
automatically. If the slew rate of the current is too
high (for example, if the machine suddenly seizes or
kickback occurs), the machine switches off. Switch off
the machine at the trigger switch (11). Switch it on
again and continue to work as normal. Try to prevent
the machine from seizing.
Restart protection: The electronic signal display (15)
FLASHES and the machine does not start. The restart
protection is active. If the mains plug is inserted with
the machine switched on, or if the power supply is
restored following an interruption, the machine does
not start up. Switch the machine off and on again.
When switched on, the machine accelerates to maxi-
mum speed very quickly, i.e. automatic restriction
of the starting current does not work (soft start). An
electronic error exists. Other safety-related electronic
functions are no longer available. Have the machine
repaired immediately
Replacing the lamellar ring
See Fig. C 01 – C 05
Replace a worn lamellar ring early enough to en-
sure optimum dust extraction and the safety of the
operator.
To replace the lamellar ring, first remove the cup
wheel. Loosen the screws of the two-part clamp-
ing ring with a SW 8 open-end wrench. Pull both of
the worn lamellas out of the holder.
In each case press one of the two lamellar in-
serts fully into the gap between the hood and the
clamping ring. (C 03 – C 04).
Once the two lamellas are inserted correctly,
tighten the screws again. When tightening, ensure
that the ends of the clamping ring protrude to the
same height.
Check that the lamellar ring is seated firmly in the
holder and cannot be pulled out.
Care and maintenance
► Always disconnect the mains power plug before
carrying out any work on the device, specifically
when changing the grinding tool!
► The air vents must be kept clean and clear to en-
sure sufficient cooling. Blocked air vents will lead
to the destruction of the machine. Regularly clean
the ventilation openings with a vacuum cleaner.
► Repairs must only be carried out by authorised
workshops or by the Collomix Service department.
► Only use original Collomix accessories and spare
parts.
