PRECAuTIONS
Do not use with water that is microbiologically
unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection
before or after the system. Systems certified for cyst reduction
may be used on disinfected waters that may contain
filterable cysts.
Filter must be protected against freezing, which can
cause structural damage and water leakage.
To prevent costly repairs or possible water damage,
it is strongly recommended that the filter head assembly be
replaced every ten years. If the filter head assembly has been in
use for longer than ten years, it should be replaced immediately.
Date the top of any new filter head assembly to indicate the next
recommended replacement date.
Turn off water supply to head if left unattended
for an extended period of time.
Do not use electrical heating tape on this product.
NOTE:
For cold water use only.
This installation must comply with all applicable state and
local regulations.
The contaminants or other substances reduced by this water
treatment device are not necessarily in your potable drinking
water. Contact the local water treatment municipality for a
copy of their water analysis, or have the feed water tested by a
reputable water-testing laboratory.
After prolonged periods of non-use, such as a vacation, it
is recommended that the system be flushed thoroughly. Let
water run for 2-3 minutes before using.
The filter cartridge used with this system has a limited service
life. Changes in taste, odor, color, and/or flow of the water
being filtered indicate that the cartridge should be replaced.
Do not install where system will be exposed to direct sunlight.
Do not use aerosol sprays (bug spray, cleaning fluids, etc.) near
the system. These materials contain petroleum derivatives that
cause crazing and cracking of the system's plastic components.

INSTALLATION INSTRuCTIONS
Please read all instructions, specifications and precautions
before installing and using the system.
Instructions refer to standard installation on existing water line
to refrigerator
Numbered diagrams correspond with numbered steps.
1. Water Supply Connection
Water supply to the refrigerator should have a
separate shut-off valve installed before the filter. If it does
not, a separate shut-off valve should be installed.
NOTE: If your refrigerator is NOT connected to a water
supply, follow your refrigerator manufacturer's directions to
connect the water supply. Once connected, continue with
installation of the OMNIFILTER R1500 filter.
NOTE: Before starting installation, turn off the icemaker in
the refrigerator.
A)
Turn off the cold water supply to the refrigerator.
Dispense water from the refrigerator door until water
flow stops. This releases the pressure in the pipes. Before
starting installation, place a tray or towels under the cold
water line to catch excess water after the pipes are cut.

2. Mount the System
Do not mount the system directly to the
refrigerator.
The system should be mounted on a stud or firm,
solid surface that is able to support the weight of the system.
The use of wall anchors is recommended.
NOTE: Select location under sink, in basement or near
refrigerator where the system is to be mounted.
NOTE: The system can be mounted vertically (Figure 2A) or
horizontally (Figure 2B). Dimensions in both diagrams allow
for cartridge removal or system removal.
A)
Vertical installation
requires a minimum space of
12 inches wide by 20.25 inches high. Ensure that the
mounting bracket is level and the bracket tabs angle
away from the mounting surface.
B)
Horizontal installation
19.5 inches wide by 12.5 inches high. Ensure that the
mounting bracket is level and the bracket tabs angle
away from the mounting surface.
C)
Use the 3/32-inch drill bit to create pilot holes for the
mounting bracket. If using wall anchors, use the size drill
bit recommended by the wall anchor manufacturer.
D)
Using wall anchors or supplied screws, attach the bracket
to the wall with tabs facing upward.
E)
Slide the unit down so the bracket slides into the slot on
the back of the unit. The unit should fit snugly on the
bracket; reposition the unit until a snug fit is obtained.
