plate or in the manual for the air extraction device (e.g.
air extraction hood).
2. Measure the internal width and height of the window
and work out the window size in m
(width x height = m
window size
3. Read off the window gap size (minimum gap at side of
your window) where the air extraction throughput and
window size intersect on the table.
4. Measure the inner window gap size at the top in the tilt
position in cm. The gap size of your window may not be
less than the gap size obtained from the table. An even
larger gap or window opening is preferable.
5. If the window's gap size is less than the permitted value
according to the table then it may be that the window
can only achieve the required gap size in the turning
position. Even in the turning position, a minimum gap
size must be achieved. The window contacts must be
mounted so that maintenance of the minimum gap size
is assured. We recommend that the minimum gap size is
fixed by means of a spacer.
C. Installation of the magnetic switch

windows that can only either be tilted or turned. It is not per-
mitted to install it on combination tilting/turning windows.
If only combination tilt/turn windows are present, it must be
determined in advance whether the exhaust air control is to
be actuated in the tilting or turning position.
If you decide that the exhaust air control should be actuated
in the tilt position, you must ensure by mechanical locking
that the window cannot be opened in the turned position. If
you opt for the turned position, it should not be possible to
open the tilted window.
Window in tilt position
The sensor is mounted on the handle side of the window.
Window in turn position
The sensor is mounted on the upper or lower edge of the
window.
Installation points
„ The sensor and magnet should be mounted so that when
the window is closed the distance between the two housing
parts is less than 6mm (Fig. 5).
„ The supplied underlays (U) are to be used to adjust this di-
stance. For initial setup, we recommend that the sensor and
magnet are fixed with double sided tape and are not screwed
in place until after performance of a functional test.
C.2 The window should be set to the minimum gap for its
size as obtained from the table and if required should
be fixed at this position.
