5. Switched button – Press and hold this button for three seconds to
power the AVU1500's "switched" outlets on or off. This button is
disabled when the rear panel's "Remote In" on/off slide-switch is
set to "On".
6. Dimmer button – this button enables you to control the display's
brightness level.
7. Test button – press and hold this button for three seconds to start a
quick shutdown test so you can see if things are set up correctly. Also,
press and hold this button for 10 seconds to start a deep battery test,
which is designed to deplete and recharge the battery to help refresh
its chemical contents. It will simulate a battery-backup condition, but
will not perform any staged shutdown.
This button will be disabled when your AVU1500 is in
battery-backup mode.
8. Audible Alert button – this unit can sound an audible alert to inform
you of a power outage (or other critical events). This button enables
you to turn the audible alert capability on and off. During a real power
outage and battery-backup situation, this button enables you to
temporarily mute the alert, but keep the feature on for the
next occasion.
