For constant exposure results it is recommended to fl ash manually.
Press control key 5 (13) until the display show M. In manual fl ash mode the light
output is manually controlled.

Assign the group A, B and C directly with the studio fl ash. Please read the instruc-
tion manual of your DÖRR DMX-600 studio fl ash to learn about the group setting.
08.1 ALL – FOR ONE OR MORE STUDIO FLASHES
This setting treats all studio fl ashes the same way, no matter which group they are.
They will all fl ash in manual mode. Press control key 7 (15) until ALL is shown in the
display.
Press control key 1 (9) to adjust the fl ash power . The display highlights the current
fl ash power. Reduce fl ash power with control key 1 (9) to reduce the fl ash output
or control key 5 (13) to increase the fl ash power. Choose performance range from
1/128 (minimum power) to 1/1 (full power). Confi rm setting with confi rmation but-
ton (21). The fl ash trigger saves the setting automatically, when no input is made
for 5 seconds.
08.2 A B
This setting A B allows to control two studio fl ashes and set diff erent fl ash power.
Press control key 7 (15) until display shows A B.
Press control key 1 (9) to adjust the fl ash power of fl ash A. The display shows the
current setting. Reduce fl ash power with control key 1 (9) to reduce the fl ash output
or control key 5 (13) to increase the fl ash power. Choose performance range from
1/128 (minimum power) to 1/1 (full power). Confi rm setting with confi rmation but-
ton (21). The fl ash trigger saves the setting automatically, when no input is made
for 5 seconds.
Press control key 2 (10) to adjust fl ash power B. Reduce fl ash power with control key
2 (10) to reduce the fl ash output or control key 6 (14) to increase the fl ash power.
Confi rm setting with confi rmation button (21). The fl ash trigger saves the setting
automatically, when no input is made for 5 seconds.
08.3 A B C
This setting A B C allows to control 3 studio fl ashes and set diff erent fl ash power for
each single studio fl ash.
Press control key 7 (15) until A B C is displayed.
In order to adjust the fl ash power for fl ash A and B, follow the steps in above men-
tioned chapter 08.2. Additionally you may adjust the fl ash power of fl ash C with
control key 3 (11). Reduce fl ash power with control key 3 (11) or increase fl ash power
with control key 7 (15).

08.4 MANUAL FLASH MODE MULTI
Choose MULTI setting for special fl ash eff ects. This is a stroboscopic fl ash, which
releases several fl ashes during an exposure. This way you may shoot sportive mo-
tion sequences. Choose your exposure time not too short so all fl ashes must be
released during exposure.
Example
10 fl ashes with a frequency of 4. Set the exposure time as follows: 10 x 1/4 (0,25)
seconds = 2,5 seconds.
Press control key 5 (13) until MULTI appears in the display. In fl ash mode MULTI the
power fl ash setting is done manually. Choose from power level 1/4 to 1/128.

power please refer to the instruction manual of your DÖRR DMX-600 studio
fl ash.
08.4.1 Setting fl ash power
Press control key 1 (9). The display highlights the current fl ash power. Reduce fl ash
power with control key 1 (9) to reduce the fl ash output or control key 5 (13) to in-
crease the fl ash power. Choose performance range from 1/128 (minimum power)
to 1/4 power. Confi rm setting with confi rmation button (21). The fl ash trigger saves
the setting automatically, when no input is made for 5 seconds.
08.4.2 Setting number of fl ashes
In order to reduce the number of fl ashes press control key 3 (11), while control key
7 (15) increases the number of fl ashes.
08.4.3 Setting fl ash frequency
The fl ash frequency is the time/interval within the fl ashes are released. The interval
of 1 corresponds to 1 second, 2 to ½ second, 4 to ¼ second etc.. Use control key 2
(10) to reduce the fl ash frequency, while control 6 (14) increases the fl ash frequency.
Example
Flashing in MULTI mode requires only small amount of surrounding light. For best
results the background should be uni colour and rich in contrast from the main
motif.
