Safety rules for carbon dioxide (CO
) cylinders
2
• Use only for supplying CO
to aquaria.
2
• CO
cylinders are under high pressure. Therefore, please observe the following:
2
• Do not throw CO
cylinders. Store in a cool place. Protect against sun and temperatures above 50°C.
2
• Do not force CO
cylinders open.
2
• Release CO
only using a DENNERLE pressure reducer for CO
2
Exclusive) with M 10 x 1,25 thread!
• Release CO
out of upright cylinders only. Secure against tipping over.
2
• CO
gas is heavier than air and causes suffocation at high concentrations, therefore:
2
• Do not inhale CO
gas.
2
• Store out of reach of children.
• Store CO
cylinders in a well-ventilated place and not in basement rooms.
2
• When transporting individual cylinders in vehicles please observe the following: Secure against sliding or rolling around, otherwise the valve
may be damaged, causing CO
gas to escape. Provide for ample ventilation, e.g. open window, blower switched on, etc.
2
• Do not refill disposable CO
cylinders!
2
• Place only completely empty cylinders into recycling containers.
How the
CO
fertilizer system Compact works
2
The pressure reducer Compact automatically reduces the cylinder pres-
sure to an operating pressure in line with practical requirements. The
precision needle valve enables highly exact and very simple CO
ge. The Micro-Perler ensures effective dissolving of the CO
in the aqua-
2
rium water. The special CO
check valve from DENNERLE protects the
2
valuable pressure reducer from any backflowing water.
The disposable 500 g CO
cylinder is particularly practical and conveni-
2
ent. It will supply CO
over a long period before it needs replacing. And

the frequently laborious refilling process for reusable cylinders is a thing
of the past!

1. Connect the pressure reducer
• Pull black protective cap off the needle
valve of the pressure reducer.
• Close the needle valve by turning in
clockwise direction (if it is not yet clo-
sed). IMPORTANT: Tighten only gently!
• Pull green protective cap off the cylinder
valve.
• Screw pressure reducer hand-tight onto
CO
cylinder without canting by turning

• Measure the carbonate hardness of your aquarium water.
• Screw coupling rings tight.
• Read the pH value which corresponds to the desired CO
