If the watch is set while the sonnerie
is active, it will strike the passage of
each hour; in this case, wait for the
sonnerie to finish the strike before
continuing to set the time.
Sonnerie au passage
(hour-strike)
If the sonnerie function is active the
watch will strike the passage of each
hour. The sonnerie is composed of 2
gongs struck alternately by the 2 ham-
mers A.
The 2 gongs are tuned to a major third
(ratio 1.25, C and E for example) to
create a harmonious chord.
If the watch is not worn for a period
of more than 12 hours, the sonnerie
is automatically deactivated in order
to preserve the autonomy of the watch.
Activating the sonnerie au pas-
sage (hour-strike)
A press on push-piece II activates the
sonnerie, the watch strikes to confirm
the operation and a diamond appears
in window B between the two ham-
mers A. This confirmation will not
sound during last 15 minutes of the
hour as the normal sonnerie is being
prepared.
A second press on push-piece II deac-
tivates the sonnerie and the diamond
in window B is replaced by a blue
indicator.
