Using a screwdriver, lever the spring washer 10
out of the groove on the grinder spindle 3 and re-
move the mounting flange. Mount a fitting mount-
ing flange 4 accordingly.
Protection Guard
Place the protection guard 2 on the spindle collar.
Adjust the position of the protection guard 2 to
the requirements of the work process. Clamp with
the screw.
When using tapered grinding/sanding discs up to
125 mm in diameter, it is allowed to work with the
supplied clamping parts without using the protec-
tion guard 2.
Use the protection guard 2 when operating with
flat grinding/sanding discs as well as with cup
brushes.
Quick Clamping Nut
Instead of the clamping nut 1, the quick clamping
nut 7 can be used. Grinding tools can be
mounted without using tools. Before mounting,
make sure that the arrow 12 is pointing to the in-
dex mark 11.

Never loosen a tight quick-clamping nut with
pliers. Always use the two-pin spanner. Insert
the two-pin spanner as shown in the illustration.
The quick clamping nut 7 may not be used for
brushes.
Starting Operation
Observe correct mains voltage: The voltage of
the power source must agree with the voltage
specified on the nameplate of the machine.
Equipment marked with 230 V can also be con-
nected to 220 V.
Switching On and Off
To start the machine, first push the safety lock
against starting 6 forward and then press the On/
Off switch 5 and keep it depressed.
To lock on the machine, keep the On/Off
switch 5 depressed and push the lock-on but-
ton 6 further forward.
To switch off the machine, release the On/Off
switch 5 or, when locked on with the lock-on but-
ton 6, briefly press the On/Off switch 5 and then
release.
Operating Instructions
Optimum grinding results are achieved when
the grinding tool is moved uniformly back and
forth with light pressure.
Pressure that is too strong reduces the per-
formance capability of the machine and
causes the grinding tool to wear more quickly.
Do not continue to use out-of-round grinding
tools. Dress with a dressing stone (accessory)
or replace.
