USE AND OPERATION

The ASIST equipment and machines are designed for
domestic
or hobby use only.
The manufacturer and the importer do not recommend
to use this equipment under extreme conditions and at
high loads. Any other additional requirements must be
agreed upon by the manufacturer and the buyer.
Please remember that our equipment has not been
designed for commercial, trade or industrial use ac-
cording to its purpose. We accept no liability if the
equipment is used in commercial, trade or industrial
companies and during similar activities.
Assembly
Always disconnect the plug from the mains socket be-
fore working.
Danger of electric shock. Installing/changing the
sanding disc The device is delivered with the orbital
sander disc ( 12) pre-installed.
Removing pre-assembled sanding disc:
1. Remove the 4 Phillips screws (22).
2. Remove the pre-assembled sanding disc.
Position the mounting plate:
3. Position the movable mounting plate (23) on the
device:
The two threaded bores (24) of the mounting plate
must be aligned with the markings (25)
on the device.
4. Check the correct position of the felt ring (26).
Installing the eccentricgrinder disc:
5. Place the desired eccentric grinder disc (17) on the
mounting plate (23).
6. Fasten the sanding disc with the
4 Phillips screws (22).
7. Make sure that the sanding disc is fi rmly in place.
Mounting the orbital sander disc and triangular
sanding plate:
5. Insert the 4 rubber pins (27) with the latching nose
(27a) into the 4 recesses in the sanding disc (18/ 12).
6. Place the desired sanding disc (18/ 12) on the
mounting plate (23).
The rubber pins (27) fi t into the recesses of the device.
Only one position is possible.
7. Fasten the sanding disc with the 4 Phillips screws
(22).
8. Make sure that the sanding disc is fi rmly in place.
Attaching/removing sanding sheet
Clean the sanding disc before you attach a sanding
sheet.
When using sanding sheets without ventilation holes,
dust extraction is not possible.
Use only appropriate sanding sheet sizes. Sanding
sheets, which extend beyond the sanding disc, can
cause injuries and can cause the sanding sheets to
block or tear.
Sanding sheet with Velcro
The sanding discs are fi tted with Velcro backing
for quick mounting of sanding sheets.
Attaching sanding sheet:
1. Press the desired sanding sheet (19/ 20/ 21) evenly
onto the sanding disc (12/ 17/
18). Ensure that the ventilation holes in the sanding
sheet are placed directly above the extraction
openings in the sanding disc.
Removing sanding sheet:
2. Simply pull the sanding sheet (19/ 20/ 21) off the
sanding disc (12/ 17/ 18).
Sanding sheet without Velcro
The orbital sander disc (12) is equipped with terminal
strips (13) for clamping sanding sheets without Velcro
(sanding sheets not included).
Clamping sanding sheet:
1. Open the two clamping levers (14) on the orbital
sander disc (12).
2. Slide one end of the sanding sheet under the ter-
minal strip (13).
3. Clamp the sanding sheet by locking the clamping
lever (14).
4. Pull the sanding sheet tightly over the orbital sander
disc (12).
Clamp the other end of the sanding sheet.
Removing sanding sheet:
5. Open the two clamping levers (14) and pull out the
sanding sheet.
Connecting/removing/emptying the dust collection box
Connecting the dust collection
box:
1. Before connecting, ensure that the dust collection
box (10) is fi rmly closed.
2. Slide the dust collection box (10) all the way onto the
connection for dust extraction (6). The two lugs (6a) on
the connection for dust extraction (6) fi t into the two
grooves (10a) of the dust collection box (10).
Removing the dust collection box:
3. Press the release button (7) and pull the dust collec-
tion box (10) out.
Emptying the dust collection box:
4. Pull the tab (9) and remove the dust collection box
lid (8).
5. To empty, simply shake or knock out the dust col-
lection box (10).
6. Then close the dust collection box (10) again.
Empty the dust collection box regularly to ensure op-
timal suction.
Connecting/removing external dust extraction
Connecting external dust extraction:
1. Slide the adapter for external dust extraction (11) all
the way onto the connection for dust extraction
(6).
