Operating Instructions
(see figures D–E)
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
While sawing, always position the fingers of
your guiding hand behind the safety fin 3. Dur-
ing working, hand or fingers may not be held any-
where close to the saw blade.
Never saw toward the direction of the body.
The use of cooling agents during sawing is
not permitted.
When sawing light building materials, ob-
serve the statutory provisions and the recom-
mendations of the material suppliers.
Check wood, press boards, building materials, etc. for
foreign objects such as nails, screws or similar, and
remove them, if required.
Fig. F: Switch the machine on and apply it to an edge
of the workpiece to be sawn. Do not saw flat on the full
surface of the workpiece.
Use a piece of scrap wood for precise starting of the
cut. Fasten the piece of scrap wood as a stop at the
requested cutting line and saw alongside of this edge.
Sawing Workpieces to Size
(see figures G–H)
Mount the fine cutting saw blade.
Switch the machine on and apply it to the edge of the
workpiece to be sawn. Hold the power tool at an
inclined angle (approx. 60°).
Fig. G: Observe the correct sawing direction as shown
in the figure. Avoid the tip of the saw blade from plung-
ing in (danger of kickback). Pay attention that the tip of
the saw blade can extend freely out of the workpiece.
Fig. H: Saw profile strips beginning from the edge as
shown in the figure, and not from the rounded section.
At the end of the cut, reduce the pressure on the saw
blade in order to prevent fraying of the workpiece.
After sawing, switch the power tool off immediately.
Working with the Cross-cutting Table
(see figure I)
The power tool must not be operated with
commercially available mitre boxes.
Using the Bosch cross-cutting table 14 intended for
the power tool enables its stationary use as a chop
saw, allowing for exact 90° cuts as well as for variable
mitre cuts to be performed.
When using the cross-cutting table, always work with
the fine cutting saw blade.
For mounting the power tool onto and for working with
the cross-cutting table 14, read and observe the oper-
ating instructions of the cross-cutting table.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning

Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
For safe and proper working, always keep the
machine and ventilation slots clean.
Regularly check the proper seating between the saw
blade 7 and the saw blade guide 1 as well as between
the saw blade guide 1 and the saw blade holder 10 on
the power tool. When the clearance is too large,
replace the saw blade immediately. During operation,
vibrations develope that can cause the saw blade guid-
ance to become loose over time.
Clean the saw blade holder 10 as well as the saw blade
guide 1 regularly using a soft brush. For this, remove
the saw blade from the power tool.
WARNING! Important instructions for connecting
a new 3-pin plug to the 2-wire cable.
The wires in the cable are coloured according to the fol-
lowing code:
Do not connect the blue or brown wire to the earth ter-
minal of the plug.
Important: If for any reason the moulded plug is
removed from the cable of this power tool, it must be
disposed of safely.
If the machine should fail despite the care taken in man-
ufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be
carried out by an after-sales service centre for Bosch
power tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts order, please
always include the 10-digit article number given on the
type plate of the machine.
