I. Introduction
Soundastic ULTIMATE is a dual mono audio amplifier, ma-
nufactured in line with cutting edge technologies and worldwi-
de standards of quality and reliability.
This amplifier was created on the basis of thirty years of prior
experience of the company's head designer. After many years
of tests and experiments, the topology of distribution of in-
dividual interior elements of the amplifier has been retained
since the proven design from the year 2000. In order to achieve
optimal final effects, several dozen design changes have been
implemented.
The housing holding the electronics has been made of an al-
loy of metals, the anti-magnetic character of which ensures
obtaining significant resistance to external interference. In the
power supply step, there have been use two toroid transformers,
with power of 500 VA each, made of sheet metal of the Thyssen
company. The transformers are characterised by a low level of
losses, as well as high levels of inductance, smaller size, and
very low magnetic dispersion field. They have been installed on
anti-vibration bases and secured by means of a special epoxy
mixture, while the fixing to the amplifier chassis has been car-
ried out using a copper sheet with thickness of 3 mm.
The solutions employed eliminate the adverse impact of the
presence of transformers on the MOSFET output transistors.
The output transistors have been installed on a 15 mm thick
aluminium plate in order to eliminate the residual vibrations
caused by the transformers.

The front plate has been made of aluminium alloys used in the
aviation industry. The precisely calculated convection cooling
system allowed to reduce the size of the amplifer. A new de-
layed transformer activation system (soft start) was designed,
including an anti-interference filter. Such a solution eliminates
overvoltage when turning the amplifier on, as well as the adver-
se impact of the above on the lifetime of electrolytic capacitors.
The rear plate of the amplifier has been fitted with speaker
terminals, separate RCA sockets of WBT, a renowned German
company, and XLOR inputs (professional Amphenol sockets).
The other RCA sockets are gilded Japanese Jalco sockets.
Amplifier front: mains switch and input selector are manufac-
tured by C&K, and the motor-controlled volume potentiometer
is the "Blue Velvet" model of the Alps company, enjoying a great
deal of respect in the world of audiophiles, also performing the
role of a passive preamplifier.
The enthusiasts of vinyl discs have not been forgotten. The
amplifier features record player inputs for MC and MM in-
serts, in which THT (discreet) elements have been applied. The
RIAA curves have been modified by adding an additional 3.2
uS (Neumann) time constant, which led to achieving greater
spatiality of the musical image.
In each situation, both when using a record player and at each
of the "in line" input type, the amplifier shows a very clear loca-
tion of the musical scene instruments. The availability of details
and particularities of the musical records played back is excep-
