Information on installation
NOTICE!!!
1. Requirements
• This roof window may only be installed
in caravans and motor homes. It is per-
missible in motor homes according to the
[German] Vehicle Licence Regulations,
provided that the checking number is on
the acrylic hood.
• If necessary, obtain the required informa-
tion from the vehicle manufacturer and/or
TÜV [German technical inspection socie-
ty]. It may be necessary to make an entry
in the vehicle papers or obtain approval
from the TÜV.
• The roof window may only be installed
with the hinged edge towards the direc-
tion of travel or at an angle of 90° to the
direction of travel, so that the hood opens
opposite to the direction of travel or to-
wards one side of the vehicle.
• It can only be installed in roofs with a roof
thickness from 28 mm to 48 mm. To do
this, the appropriate screws must be used
to affix it.
• The sealing cord between the roof surface
and the outer frame is not included in
the delivery and must be obtained from a
specialist retailer. For this purpose, it must
be 8 mm in diameter, permanently elastic,
and appropriate for outdoor use. Addi-
tionally, in the joint area, a second piece
of sealing cord must overlap the joint on
both sides by approx. 50 mm. We recom-
mend a butyl sealing cord, Teroson Tero-
stat 110M Ø 8 mm, IDH number 734914.
NOTICE!!!
6/24
Read this information carefully prior to starting installation.
If faults or damage arise due to the failure to follow the
individual points in these instructions, REMIS GmbH will
not accept any liability.
You must clean the groo-
ve before inserting the
sealing cord!
• Before installation, it is mandatory to
check which part of the roof is suitable for
installation. The following items must be
observed:
• Information from the caravan/motor
home manufacturer regarding the sub-
sequent installation of roof windows.
Please request this directly from the
manufacturer.
• Installation is only permitted in roofs
that are level, without angling, both
inside and out.
• The necessary cut-out in the roof must
not impair or damage any weight-
bearing struts, electricity cables, supply
tubes, etc.
• Is there enough room at the selected
location to open the roof window (rai-
ling, crossbars)?
• Is there enough room in the interior
for the inside frame (any collision with
built-in cupboards, flaps, doors, etc.)?
• The weather side of the roof must be free
from dirt, moisture and other residues be-
fore installation, especially in the sealing
area of the outer frame.
• The cut surface created by the roof cut-out
must be firm enough because the affixing
screws for the outer frame will transfer
strong local forces when screwed tight.
Foam heat insulation must be stiffened
with appropriate building materials (e.g.
U-beams or solid wood).
