Load introduction

The load cells of the series RSC measure tension loads in axial direction. The threaded boreholes at the top and
bottom are used for the load indroduction. Loads should be introduced as closely as possible in the direction of
measurement. Torsional and bending moments causes measurement errors and are likely to damage the load
cell. These adverse influences must be avoided by construction elements which are not absorb any load in the
direction of measurement. HBM offers knuckle eyes as load introduction components to minimize adverse
effects due to load introduction. The knuckle eyes can be used for quasistatic loads (load cycles < 10Hz). The
nuts of the knuckle eyes must be fastened at max. load. Do not introduce the fastening torque through the load
cell.

Connection

Load cells with strain-gauge measuring system can be connected to:
-- carrier-frequency amplifiers or
-- DC amplifiers, designed for strain gauge measuring systems
The transducers use the four-wire technique. Refer to fig. 3.1 for the allocation of contacts.
