35. Re-connect ground of vehicle battery.
36. Adapt the vehicle coding on the following control units using guided troubleshooting, by
changing them to "Trailer coupling fitted 1D2": Confirm suggested code. Codings may only be
carried out by the Software Version Management –Code (SVM).
Note
Changing the code also affects the cooling system control unit in
the vehicle. Depending on the previous vehicle fitting, you may
therefore have to adapt the vehicle's cooling system when
retrofitting the towing hitch. You will find more information on this
in the Service-Net.
37. Using the Software Versions Management (SVM) system of the selected diagnostics, perform
an on-line document retrieval for the vehicle with the action number 050200.
38. Check the entries in the error log, and delete them if necessary.
39. Check the operation of the trailer using suitable test equipment (with load resistances) or with
a trailer.
40. Secure all cables with cable ties.
41. Re-fit all disassembled parts.
