Operating the Brewferm electric kettle
Turn the thermostat [6] of the Brewferm brew
kettle clockwise to select the desired temperature
between 30 °C [ON] and 100 °C or switch it to the
max. position to select continuous heating.
The indicator light [8] will light up when the heating
element is switched on.
Before use, make sure the thermostat [6] is in the
'OFF' position. Then fill the kettle and plug in the
mains cable. Next, turn the thermostat up to the
desired temperature. The heating element will be
switched on until the desired temperature is reached,
then the kettle will maintain this temperature.
The kettle is equipped with an alarm switch [7]: in
the 'ON' position (I), the unit will produce a sound
(beep) when the set temperature is reached. To turn
off the sound, switch the alarm button to the 'OFF'
position = 0.
To turn off the kettle the thermostat must be in the
'OFF' position.

Continuous operation

The Brewferm kettle can also be used with the alarm
switch in the 'OFF' position = 0. In this case the
temperature is kept within ± 5 °C of the desired
temperature, until the kettle is switched off by turning
the thermostat counterclockwise to the 'OFF' position.
Continuous heating – achieving a rolling boil
To achieve a rolling boil continuous heating can be
applied by selecting the max. position with
the thermostat.
Brewing tips
During mashing you will be heating a heterogeneous mixture of water and malt. Therefore, it is necessary to
stir frequently for even heating. The temperature sensor is placed at the bottom of the kettle, we recommend
checking the temperature with a thermometer at several places throughout the mash.
Do not use the ball valve to drain the mash, as it will become clogged. Only use the ball valve for uncharged
liquids (e.g. water, wort...).
To avoid danger, have the appliance repaired or a damaged mains cable replaced by the manufacturer,
their customer service or any other respectively qualified person only.
Repairs covered by the warranty shall only be carried out by the manufacturer. 2 year warranty on
manufacturing defects. The appliance is in accordance with the EU-Directives no. 2006/23/CE and no.
2004/108. Subject to technical alterations. Dispose of packaging material in a proper manner.

First use

Clean the kettle and lid thoroughly before using
it for the first time. Boil about 5 litres of water for
about 10 minutes. When using the new appliance
for the first time, it may give off a slight smell, this
does not give any cause for concern.

Cleaning and maintenance

• It is very important to clean the kettle after use.
The dry ingredients may stick to the metal.
• Rinse the machine and soak it with 5 – 10 litres
of water of 60 °C for 15 minutes or more. We
advise the use of PBW from Five Star or
Chemipro OXI. Follow the instructions on the
label of the cleaning product.
• Do not use any sharp metal utensil to remove any
residue. Use a soft cloth or soft scouring pad to
clean the inside of the kettle.
(Tip: Vinegar can be helpful.)
• Any wort residue marks on the boiler base should
be wiped off before next use.
• Do not splash any electronic parts of the machine.
