2. The anchor point of the fall arrester device must not be below the
standing level of the user
3. The deflection at the edge must be at least 90°. Warning! The
HSG KOMPAKT is not suitable for horizontal use!
5.) Use
5.1) Before using the device, a visual and functional inspection must
be carried out. Start by checking the unit, including the full length of
the retractable safety rope, for any damage (rips, deformation,
corrosion etc.). Ensure that the safety rope can be pulled out and
back in freely. (Never let go and let it feed in unchecked; always
control the feed). To check the blocking function, tug the rope quickly
to ensure that the fall arrester device blocks. If any malfunctions are
detected, the fall arrester device must be taken out of use immediately
and inspected by a qualified person.
5.2) Watch out for the danger of electrical wiring
5.3) Always ensure that all carabiners have been closed correctly.
5.4) The force on the structure in the event of a fall is max. 6 kN.
5.5) Avoid slack rope.
5.6) The anchor point should be perpendicular above the workplace.
If the anchor point is lower than the workplace, the danger of
crashing into lower-lying structures may exist in the event of a fall. If
the anchor point is on one side, there is the danger of an impact on
structures positioned on the side. To minimise a swinging fall, the user
should limit any sideways movements towards the centre axis to a
minimum of approx. 45°. If this is not possible or if larger excursions
are required, then no individual anchor points should be used, but a
system according to EN 795 Category D (track) or C (Rope) should
be used, for example.
5.7 - 4.6) Pay attention to loose strap ends / do not use for tying /
do not knot supporting device / always close carabiners properly.
Safety carabiners and/or connecting elements must always be
protected against transverse and buckling loads.
Only use fall arrester devices for their intended purpose and not, for
example, as a lanyard, i.e. do not hold on to the fall arrester device
or pull yourself up on it.
