Saw band exchange
Danger of cutting! Wear gloves when replacing the saw
band.
Only use suitable saw bands.
1.
Unscrew the two star knob nuts (A) and the nut (B) on
the underside of the saw table (6).
7. Pull off the stopper guidance profile (7).
2.
Open both case doors (2 / 4).
3. Put the saw band coping (12) completely down.
4. Put upper band roll (14) down.
turn the adjusting wheel (1) anti-clockwise, the saw
band is relaxed
5. Take out saw band.
6. Put in new saw band.
Pay attention to a correct position: the teeth must
show forward (direction door).
7. Put saw band centrally on the band rolls (14) / (5).
8. Turn adjusting wheel (1) clockwise until the saw band does
not glide off any longer.
9. Fasten guidance gib (7) and close lower case door.
10. Subsequently:
Clamp saw band („Saw band tension" p. 19)
Adjust saw band („Incline of the upper band saw roll" p.
19)
Adjust band guidances („upper band guidance" and
„lower band guidance" p. 22)
Keep saw running at least one minute for testing
Switch off saw, pull out power plug and recheck
adjustments
Adjusting upper band guidance
The upper band guidance consists of:
two guide rollers (these guide the saw band laterally)
a support roller (this supports the saw band from behind)
Check the two guide rollers and the support roller after
each saw band exchange and each saw band
adjustment and readjust it if necessary.
Guide rollers and support roller are wear parts. Check
these regularly and replace the rolls in case of wear at
the same time.
To adjust the guide rollers:
1.
Release screws (M / N).
2. Push the guide rollers (O / P) against the saw band.
3. Open upper door and turn band saw roll several times
manually clockwise.
Both guide rollers must must abut slightly on the saw
band.
2. Fasten screws (M / N).
4.
Close upper case door.
Adjust support roller:
1.
Release screw (Q).
2. Adjust support roller (R).
Distance between support roller and saw band app.
0.5 mm
Is the saw band moved manually it shall not touch the
support roller
3. Refasten screw (M).
Adjusting lower band guidance
The lower band guidance consists of:
two guide rollers (these guide the saw band laterally)
a support roller (this supports the saw band from behind)
Readjust the guide pins and support roller after each
saw band exchange and each saw band adjustment.
Guide pins and support roller are wearing parts. Check
these regularly and replace the pins and roller in case
of wear at the same time.
To adjust the guide rollers:
1. Open lower case door.
2.
Release screws (S / T).
3. Press the guide rollers (U / V) against the saw band.
4. Open upper door and turn band saw roll several times
manually clockwise that the guide pins set in the correct
position
Both guide rollers must abut slightly on the saw band.
5. Refasten screws.
6.
Close both case doors.
Adjust support roller:
1. Open lower case door.
2.
Release screw (W).
3. Adjust support roller(X).
Distance between support roller and saw band app.
0.5 mm
Is the saw band moved manually it shall not touch the
support roller
4. Refasten screw .
5.
Close again the case door.
Replacing the rubber belts
The band saw rolls (5 / 14) are provided with rubber belts
(28). Worn out or damaged rubber belts must be
immediately replaced.
1. Open the case doors (2 / 4).
2. Remove the saw band (* "Replacing the saw band" on
page 12).
3.
Using a screw driver lift the rubber belt (28) and pull it
off from the band saw roll.
4. Fit a new rubber belt on the band saw roll.
5. Fit the saw band.
6.
Close the case door.
