Installation:
Position the temperature sensor or the humidity sensor in a
suitable place in the terrarium. Normally there are different
temperature or humidity zones in the terrarium. Therefore you
need to determine which temperature or humidity you want to
control with the thermostat/hygrostat. In most cases a position
in a temperature-neutral or humidit-neutral area (not under e.g. a
heat lamp or fogger inlet) slightly above the ground or in a central
position in the terrarium is recommended.
Position the display device in a way that you can see and reach the
display easily. The background light of the display can be turned on
and off with the switch on the back. Connect the devices you want
to control to the corresponding sockets, sources of heat go into A,
devices the timer will control into B. Plug the mains adapter into a
socket that has been installed in accordance with the regulations.
Make sure that the devices to be controlled are only switched on
after the functions have been set. Use the following instructions
to make the settings.
1. Description of Operational Functions
1.1 How it works:
The thermostat operates a heat source until the chosen tem-
perature has been reached and then switches off. It switches on
again once the temperature falls below the value determined by
the switching delay.
The hygrostat activates the source of humidity until the selected
humidity has been reached and then switches it off. The device
will be switched on again as soon as the humidity has fallen below
the selected delay value.
1.2 Day/Night Mode Thermostat:
The thermostat automatically switches between day and night
time operation in relation to the time set, and uses the relevant
temperature settings. 'ST1' sets the time for the start of the day,
'ST2' sets the time for the start of the night. The time in 'ST1' has
to be lower than the one in 'ST2'.
1.3 Heating/Cooling:
Under 'ST1' (day) and 'ST2' (night) the thermostat can be switched
from heating to cooling. When switched to cooling, there is a pre-
set time delay of 3 minutes in order to avoid damage caused by
abrupt switching over if compressors are in use.
In heating mode (H) a device is powered until the set temperature
has been reached and then switched off. In cooling mode a device
is powered when the pre-set temperature is exceeded and turned
off when the actual temperature is lower than the pre-set tempe-
rature. Use this mode e.g. for ventilators or foggers.

1.4 Day/Night Mode Hygrostat:
The hygrostat automatically switches from day to night mode
depending on the time that has been set, and uses the set values
for the humidity. 'SH1' sets the time for the start of the day and
'SH2' for the start of the night. The time for 'SH1' has to be lower
than the one for 'SH2'.
1.5 Digital Time:
The thermostat includes a real time clock with digital timer. You
can program four ON and four OFF times respectively to the
second. Via the coupling 'B-Timer' devices like lamps or sprinklers
can be controlled. If you do not use the timer, set the functions B1
to B8 to default mode (see table 'menu'). Make sure the set values
do not contradict each other, e.g. the value for B3 lies between
those for B1 and B2.
1.6 LED Displays:
'Power' is on when connected to mains supply
'Humidity' is on when humidification is taking place
'Heat/Cool' is on when heating or cooling is taking place
'A' is on if coupling A is used
'B' is on if coupling B is used
'C' is on if coupling C is used
2. Display
2.1 Default Settings:
3 seconds after being switched on the display shows the default
settings.
2.2 Display when in operation:
'T': real time clock
'ST 1': temperature day mode (display of current mode)
'ST 2': temperature night mode (display of current mode)
'SH1': humidity in day mode (display shows current mode)
'SH2': humidity night mode (display shows current mode)
'ET': current temperature
'EH': current humidity
'A': timer mode of thermostat (current time frame)
'B': timer mode of digital clock timer (current time frame)
'C': timer function of the hygrostat (current time frame)
If the measuring range is exceeded the display shows 'HH'
If the value falls below the measuring range the display shows
'LL'
