Use for the design purpose
This unit was constructed to the latest standards of technology, and fulfils current requirements of both national
and European directives.
Use for any purpose for which the product was not designed will lead to damage and is associated with
hazards such as short circuits, electric shocks and fire. The unit may not be altered or tampered with in any way,
and the casing must not be opened. Safety instructions must be observed. The guarantee will be invalidated by
any failure to observe these user's instructions, which may lead to damage. No liability will be accepted for any
consequential damages, however caused.
Procedure
Vehicle side
1. Plug the lead from the testing box into the towing vehicle trailer socket.
2. Switch on the vehicle ignition: the LEDs (9 (–) and 10 (–)) must light. If they do not, the socket on the towing
vehicle is not wired in accordance with ISO/DIN standards.
3. Now get into the car (driver's side) with the testing box and check the trailer socket cable connections by
calling up the various functions (lights, brakes, blinkers etc.).
4. Faults/omissions in the wiring will be shown up by failure of the LEDs to light up, or an incorrect LED lighting
up.
Trailer side
1. Plug the trailer plug in the socket on the rear of the testing box (in the case of 7-pole plugs, please use the
adapter).
2. Place the pushbutton cell supplied in the battery holder (on the rear of the testing box).
3. After actuating the rotating switch, the faults which may be present will be indicated by LED.
