1 Introduction
A Vetus electronically-operated ball valve can
be opened and closed remotely by way of a
switch (Vetus art. code: ELVPAN12 for 12 Volts
or ELVPAN24 for 24 Volts) or a waste water con-
trol panel (Vetus art. code: WWCP).
In order to prevent personal injury, disconnect
all electric mains prior to installation and main-
tenance.
If the ball valve is applied as a cut-off for out-
side water and the ship is in an area where
much shellfish growth can be found, it is highly
recommended to regularly open and close (or
close and open) the ball valve.

2 Installation
The ball valves are fitted with a control unit
which is bolted on. The control unit can be re-
moved to facilitate mounting.
Make sure that the space in which the ball
valves, including their control element, are set
up is dry and easy to reach. The ambient tem-
perature should be between -20 °C (-4 °F) and
+45 °C (+113 °F).
The ball valve may be installed in any position.
In order to prevent pipes, fittings and hull
outlets from being overloaded, it is essential
that the ball valve be properly supported.
