The S2M type series force transducers are suitable for
measuring tensile and compressive forces. Because they
provide highly accurate static and dynamic force meas­
urements, they must be handled very carefully. Particular
care must be taken when transporting and installing the
devices. Dropping or knocking the transducer may cause
permanent damage.
The potting material (sealing for protection of sensitive
strain gauge installations) must not be damaged, other­
wise the transducer will become unusable.
The specifications list the permissible limits for mechan­
ical, thermal and electrical stress. It is essential that
these are taken into account when planning the measur­
ing set‐up, during installation and, ultimately, during oper­
ation.
