TEDS transducer identification
S2M
TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet) allows you to
store sensor characteristic values in a chip as per IEEE
1451.4. The S2M can be delivered with TEDS, which is
then fitted in the transducer housing, connected and sup
plied with data by HBM before delivery. If the force trans
ducer is ordered without calibration, the characteristic
values from the manufacturing certificate are stored in
the TEDS chip; if an additional DKD calibration is
ordered, the calibration results are stored in the TEDS
chip.
The TEDS module is connected between PIN E (sense
lead (-)) and PIN D (excitation voltage lead (-)). HBM's
zero wire configuration allows the TEDS to be read
without an additional sense lead.
If a suitable amplifier is connected (e.g. QuantumX from
HBM), the amplifier electronics will read the TEDS chip
and parameterization will then be implemented automat
ically, without any intervention required by the user.
The chip content can be edited and modified with suitable
hardware and software. This can be implemented, e.g.
with the Quantum Assistant or even the DAQ software
CATMAN from HBM. Please follow the operating manu
