8 Servicing and maintenance

WARNING: disconnect the battery before any adjustment or maintenance operation.

8.1 General inspection

Check regularly all the fastening elements to ensure they are fastened tight.
The "Maintenance" LED indicates when a checking visit is required with the VIRAX After-sales Service. This checking visit
must be performed every 20,000 cycles. When the 20,000 cycles are reached, the crimper locks and prevents execution of
additional crimping cycles. This blockage minimizes the risk of bad crimping following heavy use of the machine, and
prevents it from being dangerous for its user. The user must hence send the crimper to the After-Sales Service.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
• When the crimper is sent to the After-Sales Service, the cycle counter is reset to zero. The internal components
are checked and may be repaired or replaced.
• Any lack of servicing may be detrimental to proper operation of the crimper, and may cause severe body injury
to the user.
8.2 Maintenance of the crimper
• Clean and grease regularly the crimping rollers to prevent dust and other impurities from building up.
8.3 Maintenance of motor
• Ensure the machine's ventilation slots are not obstructed. Remove any dust and other impurities built up.
8.4 Connection with the software
• The crimper can be connected to a PC using a USB 2.0 type A male / mini USB male cable. This allows to see the number
of cycles performed by your crimper as well as the state of the last cycle run.
WARNING:
• To connect the cable with the tool, remove the protection cap.
• Disconnect the battery from the crimper before connecting the machine with the PC.
• During connection, the maintenance LED flashes blue.
You can download the software to connect the machine and its user manual in our web site: www.virax.com.
