Heating operation
5.1
Putting the stove in operation
Your new wood-burning stove may only be used with an operation certificate. You will obtain one from the
responsible regional chimney supervision authority after the acceptance of the stove, or in Bavaria from a
registered specialized firm (see also chapter 10).
The stove is exclusively designed for burning of wood, i.e. split wood or wooden briquettes.
The burning wood must be dry (wood humidity 20%) and untreated. Burning of other materials as
chipboard, varnished, laminated, impregnated or plastic-coated wood, waste, etc. is not allowed and besides
irresponsible loading of the environment it may damage your entire heating system.
Have you removed all accessories from the combustion chamber?
Check whether no objects are found on the wood-burning stove.
Remove possible stickers.
Make sure that all accessories have been removed from the ashpan.
Are all conventional/normal openings free?
During the first heating up leave the door of the combustion chamber slightly open. For your stove special
heat resistant paint was used that will only be finally hardened during the first heating up of the stove. By
leaving the door slightly open you will prevent the insulation material from compounding with the
paint/varnish.
Unpleasant smells that occur during the first heating up are normal. Ventilate your room well to exhaust
the vapours.
5.2
Lighting the fire
It is important to bring the wood to a perfect combustion process quickly and safely. For this purpose
arrange the wood in the stove as described below.
Never use any spirit, petrol or similar flammable substances to light the fire, do not use any glazed paper
either as it does not burn in an optimum way and releases very toxic substances into the flue gas due to its
printing ink.
