• The room that is being treated can be occupied under the condi-
tion that a distance of at least 2 metres is maintained to the ioni-
sation source and the fan is switched on at the highest fan setting.
04. Putting the appliance into operation
• Use the timer (A.3) to select the desired time frame and press
the main switch. The appliance is ready for operation. The red
lamp lights up and the timer starts to blink.
• The ventilation control setting (A.2) can be used to regulate the
amount of air that is required. Determine the size of the room and
a noise level which would appear to be tolerable before selecting
one of the settings (1, 2 or 3). Stage 1 is the setting with the lowest
level of ventilation and the lowest noise level while still ensuring
that a sufficient amount of air is circulated around the electrodes.

• The intensity controls (A.1) can be used to cease the production of
singulet oxygen depending on the intensity of the odour. Select
from one of five settings.
• Gradually reduce the intensity one setting at a time as soon as
the smell of ozone becomes noticeable (threshold value: 0.05
ppm, MAC-value: 0.01 ppm).
05. Switching off the appliance
• The odour neutraliser can be switched off during intermittent
operation as soon as a faint smell of ozone becomes noticeable.
The device can be removed after one or two days if the air is free
of persistent smells or lingering odours.
• To switch off the device turn both controls back to 0 before pres-
sing the main switch. The lamp for the main switch and the lamp
for the ionizer are now extinguished.
• Unplug the device from the mains supply.
06. Service and Maintenance
• You will get the most from your odour neutraliser by ensuring that
the cleaning intervals are observed. By doing so and observing a
number of basic requirements you can be certain of a long product
lifespan and many hours of trouble-free operation.
• The time between cleaning intervals and the number of cleaning
intervals depend not only on how often the device is used but also
on the environment in which it is used. Dirt and moisture in parti-

cular are prone to cling to the electrodes. We therefore recom-
mend that the device be checked after every second or third use
at the latest when operated in extremely dirty or dusty environ-
ments and after damage restoration. You should decide on the ba-
sis of these checks whether maintenance has to be performed on
the device or not. Maintenance need only be carried out once eve-
ry few months when the devices are used in dry environments,
e.g. in hotels or car cosmetic shops. The maintenance intervals
can be adjusted to suit your own individual situation. The number
of hours of non-stop operation as well as the number of days the
unit is used and the degree of dust, dirt and moisture present in
the environment all play a role in determining when the next
cleaning interval is to take place.
• Check the dust filters continually and clean by vacuuming or
shaking them out. Replace if necessary.
• Do not poke your hand into the housing while the device is in
operation. The devices work with high voltage. The device is pro-
tected against accidental use when open by a micro switch.
• Cleaning the interior
Unscrew the back panel to open the device. Ensure that the device
is kept clean and free of dirt and other deposits.
Use compressed air or a damp cloth to clean. Do not use wa-
ter! Do not use caustic cleaning agents or solvent-based de-
tergents. These cleaning instructions also apply when the
device is extremely dirty.
• Cleaning the Electrodes
Use compressed air sparingly to clean the spaces between the
electrodes. The filters and electrodes must be clean for the device
to work properly.

07. Troubleshooting

• Check the power supply first if the unit fails to work after the main
switch has been pressed.
• Check the fuse. The fuse is on the inside of the device.
You may at no time carry out any modifications on the de-
vice or tamper with or sidestep any safety mechanisms.
Should a fault of a different nature occur, please contact Tro-
tec for further information and support.
