5.8.1 Diode Test
Whilst in the Continuity Mode diodes can also be tested.
Forward Test
1. Touch the black probe onto the negative(-) side of the diode and red probe to positive(+) side of the diode - a beep should be heard
Reverse Test
2. Reverse the connection, so black probe is on positive(+) side of diode and the red probe is on negative(-) side of the diode – No beep should be heard
3. If the diode passes both tests then it is OK
4. If a beep is hear during the Reverse Test then the diode has a Short Circuit
5. If a no beep is heard during the Forward Test then the diode has an Open Circuit
5.8.2 LED Test
Whilst in the Continuity Mode LEDs can also be tested.
1. Touch the black probe onto the negative(-) side of the diode and red probe to positive(+) side of the diode – If the LED lights up it is OK
