7. Mounting

The backplane is mounted on a top-hat rail (Fig. 4).
When deciding where to install the backplane
(measuring location), take care that the limits of
the operating temperature are kept:
– 25 and + 55 °C for standard versions
– 20 and + 40 °C for Ex versions!
Please also observe the operating temperatures
of the individual modules!
In addition, we recommend the use of a suitable
ventilator (air flow > 40 m

a power consumption of more than 10 W per
backplane.
Place the backplane on the top-hat rail.

8. Electrical connections

The electrical connections are made to screw terminals
that are easily accessible from the front of backplane (see
Figure 5). The terminals are suitable for wire gages up to
1 ×2.5 mm .

Make sure that the cables are not live
when making the connections!
Also note that, ...
... the backplane is wired in strict accordance
with the diagram of the plug-in module to be
inserted in it.
In all other respects, observe all local regulations
when selecting the type of electrical cable and
installing them!
In the case of "Intrinsically safe" explosion-proof
versions, the supplementary information given on
the type test certificate, the EN 60 079-14 and
also local regulations applicable to electrical instal-
lations in explosion hazard areas must be taken
into account!
