9. Preparation
Never let the device, the mains line or the mains plug come into contact with hot surfaces (e.g.
a stove). Do not operate the device near open fire.
The mains line (6) must not hang over table edges or be caught.
Choose a level, stable and slip-proof workplace for the device where it is protected from splas-
hing water and cannot be reached by children. The workplace must be clean and dust-free as
well.
The workplace must be near a wall outlet.
• Clean the device before first commissioning as described in the "Cleaning" chapter farther back in these
instructions.
• Push the shaft (4) onto the motor unit (3), so that the arrow on the shaft (4) matches the open lock symbol
on the motor unit (3).
• Turn the shaft clockwise until it latches and the arrow matches the closed lock symbol.
• Take the blade protection (5) off of the blade.
10. Mains connection
Before plugging in the mains plug, ensure that the device voltage indicated on the device cor-
responds to the available mains voltage. Do not connect the device if the indication does not
correspond to the available mains voltage. Wrong supply voltage will cause severe damage
and dangers for the user.
The mains socket to which the device is connected must be easily accessible so that the de-
vice can be separated from the mains voltage quickly in case of an error.
Switch off the device before connecting it to or disconnecting it from the mains.
Make sure that the mains line is not squeezed or damaged by sharp edges. Always place it so
that no one can trip over it or be caught in it. Danger of injury!
Be careful when handling mains cables and mains connections. Mains voltage may cause
potentially fatal electric shock.
Plug the mains plug into a wall socket.
