Jump-Starting Your Car (12V/24V)
NOTE: Read your car´s owner's manual! Some vehicle manufacturers have special requirements before
jumpstarting the vehicle (e.g. fuses that have to be removed or certain security demands). Some vehicles
manufacturers place the battery in the cargo area or trunk. These vehicles often have designated jump-
start terminals.
ATTENTION: After each failed attempt to jumpstart your car, take a break for at least 1 minute to avoid
overheating.
1. Preparation: Make sure there's no oxide or dirt on the vehicle battery's terminal.
2. Press the POWER-Button (1) to check the battery capacity (2) (more than 80% are required for
the unit to work properly)
3. Connect the RED clamp to the vehicle's battery positive (+) terminal.
4. Connect the BLACK clamp to the vehicle's battery negative (-) terminal.
5. Before jump-starting a 12V vehicle, the display must show "12V JUMP START READY". Before
jump-starting a 24V vehicle, the display must show "24V JUMP START READY".
6. Start the vehicle.
7. If the vehicle started, remove the jumper cable from the Jump Starter and disconnect the BLACK
clamp and then the RED clamp from the vehicle´s battery. Leave the vehicle's engine running.
8. If the jump-start fails, check all connections. Repeat the above steps after taking a break for at
least 1 minute to avoid overheating..
9. Disconnecting the clamps will turn off the device automatically after a while.
NOTE: If you can't start the car (no jump start response), please follow the steps as below:
1. Please check whether the clamps are connected to the car battery´s positive and negative pole.
2. Please make sure that the connection is correct: the red clamp has to be connected with + and
the black clamp with – terminal and the display does not show "WARNING CLAMPS REVERSED"
3. If the clamp connections are correct, but you still cannot start the car, please check the car
battery whether it has very low (<3V) or no voltage. If this is the case, you need to manually
overrule the LI1200A in order to start the car, please follow the instructions in "Expert Mode".

EXPERT MODE

DANGER ! – EXPERT-MODE
(Only to be used by qualified persons! Exercise extreme caution!)
If the car battery is absolutely discharged (voltage lower than 3V), the device cannot identify the battery
and boost it. In this case the EXPERT-MODE can be activated by pressing the 12V or 24V button (PLEASE
MAKE SURE BEFORE THIS CHOICE WHICH BATTERY YOU ARE TRYING TO JUMP START) for 3 seconds
with a pen or similar (small buttons behind the cover). The display will show "12V JUMP START READY"
or "24V JUMP START READY" and the LI1200A behaves now as a Li-Ion-battery. 12V with 1200A or 24V
with 600A are now available directly to its clamps (for jumpstarting or other purposes like keeping the
car´s data while exchanging the battery) and you can connect the unit to the car battery and jump start
the car.
WARNING: SHORT-CIRCUIT PROTECTION AND THE AUTOMATIC SWITCH-OFF-FUNCTION (AFTER
REMOVING THE CLAMPS) IS DEACTIVATED IN EXPERT-MODE! BE SURE TO SELECT THE CORRECT
VOLTAGE. DO NOT HOLD THE CLAMPS TOGETHER OR PUT THE CLAMPS ON WITH WRONG POLARITY AT
THIS STAGE. DOING SO COULD RESULT IN SPARKS, WELDING, DAMAGE TO THE UNIT OR THE CAR, FIRE
OR EVEN EXPLOSIONS, DANGEROUS SITUATIONS AND SERIOUS OR FATAL INJURIES.
If there is still no start response with the above operation, the battery might be completely dead and
has to be replaced or other problems in the car´s electrical system are causing this situation.
