1 Operating Elements and Connections

1.1 Rear panel of the scanner
1 Mounting bracket
2 Locking screws for the mounting bracket
3 Mains jack for connection to a socket (230 V~/
50 Hz) via the mains cable supplied
4 Microphone for music control
5 Support for the mains fuse; replace a blown fuse by
one of the same type only!
6 DMX INPUT: XLR, 3-pole
1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+
7 DMX OUTPUT: XLR, 3-pole
1 = ground, 2 = DMX-, 3 = DMX+
8 Connection jack for the remote control LC-3 or
FSC-3 available as an accessory
9 red power LED
10 DIP switches Nos. 1 to 9 for adjusting the DMX
start address (→ chapter 5.2) and for selecting the
master/slave mode (→ chapter 5.1);
DIP switch No. 10 for selecting the operating mode
in the slave mode (→ chapter 5.1.1, point 2)
11 green indicating LED
if it lights constantly or flickers to the beat of the
music:
master mode
if it flashes continuously:
DMX mode, data are received
1.2 Remote control LC-3
12 Button STANDBY for the function Blackout
(mirror in starting position and light off)
13 Button FUNCTION
– in the mode "Sound" for activating a strobo-
scopic effect which is independent of the music
or controlled by music (as long as the button is
kept pressed)
– in the mode "Pattern" for changing the light
patterns
– in the mode "Chase" for changing the chase
programmes (sequences of light patterns)
14 Button MODE for switching between the modes:
"Sound" (LED will not light up)
"Pattern" (LED will light continuously)
"Chase" (LED will flash)
Note: For control via the remote control, there must be
no DMX signal at the DMX input (6).

2 Safety Notes

This unit corresponds to all required directives of the
EU and is therefore marked with
WARNING The unit is supplied with hazardous
mains voltage (230 V~). Leave servic -
ing to skilled personnel only and never
insert anything into the air vents! Inex-
pert handling may cause an electric
shock hazard.
Please observe the following items in any case:

Never cover the air vents of the housing, and always
observe a minimum distance of 10 cm to the illumi-
nated surface.
G
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against dripping water and splash water, high air
humidity, and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0 – 40 °C).
G
Do not place any vessel filled with liquid on the unit,
e. g. a drinking glass.
G
Do not operate the unit and immediately disconnect
the mains plug from the socket
1. in case of visible damage to the unit or to the
mains cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled per-
sonnel.

Never pull the mains cable for disconnecting the
mains plug from the socket, always seize the plug.
G
No guarantee claims for the unit and no liability for
any resulting personal damage or material damage
will be accepted if the unit is used for other purposes
than originally intended, if it is not correctly mounted
or operated, or not repaired in an expert way.

Important for U.K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord -
ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth
blue = neutral
brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the ter minals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must
be con nected to the terminal in the plug which is
mark ed with the letter E or by the earth symbol
, or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con -
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con -
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.
