This precision boring tool is designed for finish-boring
in metallic materials. These Operating Instructions do
not provide specific notes for the cutting of individual,
metallic materials. For applications involving other
materials, please consult our application engineers
and observe the applicable safety instructions for
these materials. The manufacturer cannot be held
responsible for any losses arising from improper use.
A damaged tool could put your safety at risk. It must
therefore be decommissioned immediately. Consult the
manufacturer if necessary.
This tool conforms to specified safety requirements.
Repairs must be carried out only by specialist perso-
nnel. Repairs that have been carried out incorrectly
present significant risks to the user.
Keep the Operating Instructions in a safe place for
future applications.

2. Application and operation
The precision boring tool is intended for machining
bores of Ø 3 mm to Ø 124 mm. There is a compre-
hensive range of accessories available for individual
diameter ranges.
Precision boring:
– For the Ø 3–10 mm range:
mini-turning range.
– For the Ø 6–20 mm range:
boring bars made of steel or carbide.
– For the Ø 20–32 mm range:
extensions with cartridges made of steel or carbide.
– For the Ø 32–68 mm range:
extensions with cartridges made of aluminium.
– For the Ø 68–124 mm range:
cartridge with bridge made of aluminium plus
counterweight.
3. Tool data
• Precision boring tool with digital display in conjunc-
tion with an electronic path-measuring sys-
tem. The adjustment path of the slide is measured
directly – the backlash inside the adjustment
mechanism is therefore irrelevant
• The machine side of the precision boring tool is
equipped with a Walter Capto
connection point of monoblock design (Fig. 1)
• Equipped with lifetime lubrication
• Fine-adjustment thanks to precision threaded
spindle
• Automatic counterbalancing with a range of dedica-
ted accessories
• Maintenance-free
• Tool side equipped with a Ø 17 mm bore for ac-
cepting Walter accessories such as adapters, boring
bars and extensions; the front side of the slide has
a serrated edge for locating bridges on which a
cartridge, adapter and counterweight can be fitted
• Internal coolant supply or mist lubrication
to the insert. Maximum permissible pressure 40 bar
• Display resolution: 0.002 mm in diameter
