8. Lighting and diffuser
If there is no attachment in front of the reflector, the meca-
blitz provides full lighting coverage for normal 24x36mm
shots with lenses of 35 mm focal length and longer.
If a wide-angle diffuser
of the reflector the flash will cover the image angle of a
24mm lens.
When positioning the telephoto attachment
by T) in front of the reflector the mecablitz will fully illumi-
nate shots taken with a telephoto lens of 85 mm focal
length and longer.
If the mecablitz is mounted ...
- on the camera (by the accessory shoe), or
- by way of the „34-36 flash bracket" next to the camera,
then it will be necessary to consider the focal length of the
camera's lens when selecting the W or T attachment (8) in
order to optimise the illumination and simultaneously
maximise the effective range of the flash light.
Please note that the effective range of the flash
light is diminished by using a wide-angle diffu-
ser (by approx. -20%), and increased with a
telephoto attachment (by approx. +20%). See
also the table for maximum illumination
distances (page 78)!
For digital cameras take into account that the
focal lengths are given for the 35mm format
(see the operating instructions for the individu-
al camera)!

8.1 Mounting/removing the attachments

To remove turn the attachment out of the retaining springs
(see fig.7) and withdraw.
Insert the wide-angle diffuser
in a swivelled out state (see fig.7) in the bayonet mount.
Turn the attachment clockwise to insert in the guide strip
in the housing gap.
(identified by W) is used in front
